Blog for Day 3(nothing 2 say)

There's really not much that I can say about today...All we did today is finish working on the 10 things we DO NOT KNOW about microsoft word.We have a supply cause Ms.Griffiths is away so we did not get any new assignment! :) But we're supposed to do blogs for Day 3's so here I am writing...O and incase none of you know check out Mr. Case's blog you have to tell him about the podcast you presented by leaving a comment for him..Yea. I'm done my word assignment so..I'm doing All the Right Type also LAzy.. That's all I have to say..read my next blog to get more info..Ta-Ta ALL!!!

Word Processor Details

Today in class we started off by doing the usual...blog or all the right type..later we had to face towards the projectore and we were told about all the different kinds of things that you find in Microsoft word. There were things I knew and things I never knew existed..
Mr. Case told us about two new things that you can do in this Program:
Docking- when you drag toolbars to the empty space
1) You can make your own toolbars: Tools-Customize-New Menu-Then you drag icons that you want.
2)In order to delete the arrows you go to: Tools-Customize-Options-Then you click on Menus show recently used commands first and gets rid off the arrow.

Now we have to do some exploring and find 10 things we did not know about and what they do.
The 10 things:

1) Envelope: You go to Tools-Envelopes&Labels. you create an evelope if you need to send someone a letter by post...or you can make labels,just type the writing you want.

2) Theme: You go to Format-Theme. This is what you use for a webpage. It is a set of unified design elements,which maybe replaced or get rid off.

3) Split: You go to Windows-Split. This divides your window into two sections but contains the same information as the first one.So you have two identical windows with the same things.

4) Header and Footer: View-Header&Footer. This changes the text you have at the bottom and top of your page. Such as notes like, dates,authors,filenames etc.

5) Caption: Insert-Caption. This enables you to add captions for things such as tables, equations,figures etc.For ex: Table 1,Table 2 goes on depending on which caption you want..

6) Sort: Table-Sort. This arranges information alphabetically,numerically,or by date.

7) Comment: Insert-Comment. This you may use to correct something or let the person know about something they could add to or change..

8) Symbol: Insert-Symbol. This has special characters from fonts installed in the computer. As well as signs like the trademark sign.

9) Letter Wizard: Tools-LetterWizard. This helps you make letter quickly with the help of a wizard.

10) Object: Insert-Object. This inserts all kinds of objects to where ever you want it inserted. Such as Calenders, graphics of different programs like coreldraw and many more.

The 4 Podcasts..

1) The Adventures of WaterBong
My first pod cast is on Christmas. It’s an animated feature.The beginning tells you what you will find in this story such as children, Santa, pixies, reindeer and all sorts of things you are likely to find during Christmas time. The story begins when the waterbong wakes up at Christmas morning and bumps into Santa, who just came in to deliver gifts. Next you find these two characters on Santa’s sleigh on their way to deliver presents. Soon Santa gets into trouble and ends up dieing and what happens is, its up to Waterbong to save Christmas. Which he does by giving out presents to the children, the ending is a spoiler because it soon becomes a drag after Santa’s death everything just keeps going. There's no drop of excitement.

2) Marketing Jeans for Levis Strauss & Co.

It’s about marketing jeans for Levi Strauss. The pod cast starts off by talking about how this company became recognized into this popular world of fashion because of its durable jeans. They have become the word’s number 1 maker of brand name clothing jeans and sportswear. It tells us how this company started from the 18th century to the 20th century. Then it tells us how these jeans are marketed. They are divided into different brand names. What this pod cast is actually sharing with listeners is the marketing campaign, their target market and advertising strategies, online marketing. This pod cast ends by telling us what all we can do in this company’s site and how we can find things that are suitable to our needs. In all though I found this pod cast a bit boring because when it starts I found there’s no end to it. It’s like a river. The positive side though is if you were to do research on this company this pod cast would cover everything you need to know.

3) Bob The Horrible Magazine seller
This supposed to be a comedy. It’s actually a part of the Funny Voices channel.This pod cast is about a person who is trying to sell magazines but can’t speak most of the words properly some of the words you can vaguely understand. Otherwise he’s just plain babbling. So he bumps into someone who is on his way to work, he stops the man and starts to babble. The poor man is confused as well as running late for work. The man is trying to help but cannot simply understand a word being spoken by Bob. So what happens in the end is that Bob gets so tired of opening his mouth he leaves. It is pretty silly but the ending is a bit funny cause you are thinking that the Man will leave since he’s getting late but the opposite ends up happening.

4) Art on the air

Lastly this pod cast is about Italian Table Forks. The Host of the show is Daphne she begins the topic by talking about when table forks were used which was during the mid 1600’s. Then it goes on talking about how people usually in the finest diners eat ate with fingers instead of cutlery. Next you learn about how a princess brought the table fork from Turkey to Venice in Italy. This is how forks became famous began to come up everywhere including a paintings by Sandro Boticelli. One such painting was about a wedding banquet. Where you find the bride, groom, all sorts of things you would notice at a wedding. The story of the fork keeps going on as it is introduced to other countries such as France, England. This pod cast is interesting because it gives us information about the fork and its bag round. Plus its short!

Ok..New Assignment

Ok..i was wrong about the catch up day..but we do have to do a little bit of catching up..^^The assigment we got is to take any four podcasts that interest us..despite the topic we chose to present our first podcast on..In this case we have to write..paragraph on each of them consisting of information such as..what is the podcast about,what is it that seemed interesting..what do we feel could have been changed it varies with each podcast...What maybe handy is to provide a link so the teacher can be able to go and see where your podcast was found from and listen to it..and maybe agree with you.My four choices are going to be on comedy..music..fashion..art..or..movies i haven't really taken a choice to it..all im going to rite now browse around and see what catches my eye^^

Network Systems are slow..

Well today its a day 2 in school..its a FRIDAY!! So glad..i love fridays since its the only days where after you finish you end up getting a weekend..where you can relax..as well as hang and prepare..for monday..Today we had a french passe compose test it was a breeze..but right now i'm so tired..i am about to just fall asleep..anywayz we haven't got an assignment today so i am guessing this is goin to be a catch up day for everyone..what i need to catch up on is All The Right Type since it barely works on my computer..

The PodCast Presentation

I finally did my presentation on the podcast.It was a bout a radio show and sometimes how dumb they can make it but still have signs of humour. Overall i think everyone did pretty good(Few people that presented). Though i think bits of key imformation was what their presentations lacked that they could ahve used to amke their presentation a bit more interesting. A bad thing is that well...for some people who chose their podcast from podcast.net did not work. So they had to present without showing their podcast. Mostly the presentations were good, I liked Kamini's and Elaines the most.

TEST Finallyyy Complete

Ok the test was kinda hard..but its over and done with whew!So our next assignment for today is to write about what a podcast is and use it in a topic of your choice.We have to present it to the class verbally without using powerpoint for about 3 minutes...Starting now..

Well the test is off as usual because mr.case was away yesterday therefore he couldn't give us instructions...But our task today is to check out the websites on his page..and find the meaning of podcast.Test is tomorrow atleast i think it is..

Test Postponed and Details

Well, today forunately the test is not being held its tomorrow therefore there's no worries :). Now what the test is all about is the kinds of powerpoint presentaion,the 5 important ways to improve your presentation and the all the tools that are available in powerpoint( i guess meaning clip art,word art and things such as that).Thats all i have to say i ahve french and English test next wish me for those..unless they get postponed too.

The Test on Powerpoint

We have a test on powerpoint tomorrow..I'm not really sure about what its on but i suppose it would have some relation to the stop death by powerpoint article.Which talks about the five main things that you could do to improve your presentation and prevent others from being completely bored.Best of luck to all that have it..Thats all about what i ahve to share for now.

The Hotlist N Interactive Presentation

Ive completed my assignments whew! i thought it would take me along time but it was quite easy.. All you had to do was know your topic very well in order to know exactly what your doing or you could make your story up along the way. I spent the whole weekend doing my interactive presentation. I came up with a title the mysterious scream..its a suspenseful slide show with options where in both cases you end up dying..it starts off where you hear a scream and you can find two doors..which door do you enter..each door has a new surprise for you..

My hotlist consists of the some of the sites that i go to and are somewhat of importance to me in school. Both my assignments are done but.. today its due and the home drive folders are missing now one by one we have to hand it in in ms. griffiths folder.

The new information on Powerponit

Last Class we were told about all the other kinds of powerpoint presentation and how we can use this type of software for other kinds of presentations such as interactive ones where you can tell stories and give instructions. We were assigned today to make our own hotlist and a interactive presentation which we work on over the weekend.
For the Interactive one- we have to list sources, we can use images,hyperlinks and other kinds of things. (seems like fun since you get to play around with controls and their are not too many instructions to follow ^^)
For the Hotlist- we use pictures so it looks nice and neat, no sources since this is for our personal use only, we have to the hyperlink each image of each website in order to get there.. and as well save the file as a webpage so its like ur own website..(you can save that as your homepage as well..But i don't wanna..)
Thats about all we got alot of work..
Not much time to work on it ..
